Many of our supporters have signed petitions (a small sample is enclosed) urging President Bush to reject the idea an international tax, dubbed a "solidarity contribution on airline tickets," that is being put on the agenda of the upcoming meeting of the Group of Eight (G8) leaders in St. Petersburg on July 15-17. France is the main supporter of this concept.

A positive reference to this global tax was included in an annex to the Gleneagles communiqué issued by the G8 last year.

We hope you can persuade the president to make a clear statement against any form of global taxes.
