Soros, who spent $23 million in an effort to defeat President Bush's re-election, specializes in weakening or collapsing the currencies of entire nations for his own selfish interests. He is known as the man who broke the Bank of England. His complex web of financial interests, companies and foundations makes Halliburton look like a Mom & Pop operation. Once he made his fortune he became a global socialist, endorsing global taxes on the very means he employed to get rich - international currency speculation and manipulation. The anti-Bolton groups he supports include: The New America Foundation, which employs anti-John Bolton activist and writer Steven C. Clemons, has received at least $600,000 from the Open Society Institute (OSI), a group founded and financed by Soros. Clemons, a Senior Fellow at the New America Foundation, served as Senior Policy Advisor on Economic and International Affairs to Senator Jeff Bingaman (D-N.M.). The honorary chairman of the Leadership Council of the New America Foundation is John Whitehead, a director of the Friends of the World Federation of United Nations Associations and a former chairman and now a vice-chair of the United Nations Association of the United States of America (UNA-USA). UNA-USA reports funding from AARP, the Bank of China, and BNP Paribas, the French bank that held more than $60 billion for the corruption-plagued U.N. oil-for-food program. Groups opposing Bolton at an April 4 National Press Club event were Citizens for Global Solutions; the Open Society Policy Center, a Soros spin-off; the Union of Concerned Scientists; Physicians for Social Responsibility; Peace Action; American Progress Action Fund; Friends Committee on National Legislation; and 20/20 Vision. The American Progress Action Fund is an affiliate of the Center for American Progress, another Soros-funded group. Citizens for Global Solutions is the new name of the World Federalist Association (WFA), a group openly dedicated to world government and global taxes. Its political action committee (PAC) has given campaign contributions to four Democratic members of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee -- Barbara Boxer, Christopher Dodd, Russell Feingold, and Barack Obama - and committee chairman Senator Richard Lugar.
