Not too far from here is the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, dedicated to the 58,182 Americans whose lives were lost in that war.

Before we have to erect another wall, let us demand a free, open and honest national debate. Enough of the doublespeak. Stop the lies. Tell the truth.

We are not here on behalf of any political or partisan agenda. Rather, we come forward because the American people need uncensored truth. We believe in the public’s right to know. We must bridge the credibility gap between the people and our government, and between the people and the media. We don’t want new lies for old. We want the truth and we have a right to the truth. We have a right and a need to know.

The great weapon of power and exploitation is language. Today we are in a battle with those who use language against us. While NATO bombs Serb TV as a propaganda tool and weapon of war, we have a president who debates the meaning of "is" and wants us to believe that war is not war. The President speaks of having no intention of putting our troops into a "non-permissive" environment, but then says he will seek the "support" of Congress but not their approval if he decides to do so.

I’ve got some big news: the War Powers Resolution requires that the Congress either declare war or vote in favor of the president’s war policy. Neither has been done. Indeed, the House has specifically noted not to authorize this bombing campaign.

This means that the war is both illegal and unconstitutional. This is not my opinion; this is a fact, and the major media have a duty and obligation to report this truth to the American people. Our troops must come home. That is the law.

The president cannot wage war through executive order and presidential directive. This war is a crime against the Constitution for which we, the American people, must hold him accountable.

We call for an end to the lies, an end to the media black-out of the truth.

In regard to the China espionage scandal, we call for:

• the immediate release of the uncensored Cox report on Chinese espionage against the United States, and the declassification and release of Presidential Decision Directive 61 on the impact of Chinese espionage on our national security and survival.

In regard to U.S. involvement with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, NATO, we call for complete freedom of information, including:

• the release of U.S. intelligence files on the Marxist, anti-NATO, anti-American and pro-Castro activities of current NATO Secretary-General Javier Solana. The American people have a right to know whose side he was on during the Cold War when American troops, missiles and tax dollars were defending Europe.

For the same reasons, we demand

• the immediate release of any and all intelligence files on the anti-Vietnam War and related leftist activities of current British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
• the immediate release of any and all intelligence files on the anti-NATO or anti-American activities of German Chancellor Gerhard Schroder and his foreign minister, Joschka Fischer.
• the immediate release of any and all intelligence files on the Italian prime Minister Massimo D’Alema, a "former" Marxist and Communist Party youth leader.
• the immediate release of any and all intelligence files on the Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski, another "former" Communist whose government has now joined NATO.
• the release of any and all intelligence information relating to how our European "allies" in NATO contributed financially and economically to the Communist enemy that killed 58,000 Americans in Vietnam.
• a complete accounting to the American people of how our European "allies" in NATO have undermined American efforts to contain the threat posed by Communist Cuba and its dictator Fidel Castro.

In regard to the war in Yugoslavia, we call for:

• the release of all executive branch documents relating to Clinton Administration approval of Iranian arms shipments to the Bosnian Muslims through Croatia in 1994.
• the release of all executive branch documents relating to Clinton Administration approval of the "ethnic cleansing" of 500,000 Serbs from Croatia in 1995.
• the release of all executive branch documents relating to Clinton Administration knowledge of criminal activities, including drug trafficking, by the Kosovo Liberation Army, the KLA, and U.S. or CIA involvement with the KLA.
• the release of all executive branch documents relating to Iranian involvement with the KLA, and Clinton Administration knowledge of that involvement.

In regard to the safety and security of our troops and their families, we call for

• an end to the cover-up surrounding the illnesses affecting hundreds of thousands of our troops from the Persian Gulf War. We demand the facts about Saddam Hussein’s use of chemical, biological or germ weapons on our troops, and whether the raw material for those weapons was supplied by Moscow. We also demand to know whether experimental vaccines were used on our troops, contributing to their illnesses.
• the immediate disclosure of what contingency plans have been made and how many troops would be required for an invasion of Yugoslavia. We demand to know how many casualities are anticipated, what the cost of this deployment is likely to be, and what, if anything, will be done to rescue our POWs and MIAs.

At the same time, we urge

• U.S. pressure on our new NATO allies from the former Soviet bloc to produce any and all information they have about American POWs from the Vietnam war transferred to the former Soviet Union
• the immediate release of all U.S. Government documents relating to POWs and MIAs from the Vietnam War.

There is a growing demand for news and information not published or broadcast by the national media. Sadly, the so-called mainstream media seem to show practically no interest in demanding the release of the information we need to make fully informed decisions.

Why is the government and our media so scared of the truth?

There is never a wrong time to do the right thing.

We are here to tell the news manipulators to step aside. We have had enough of biased, one-sided and deceptive news.
