Triumph of Disorder came out in 1999. Through a special arrangement with the publisher, we now have a limited number of hard-to-get copies. While President Clinton had announced that it was "terribly wrong" to think of an "inevitable clash of civilizations" between Islam and the West, Morgal Norval, a former U.S. Marine, says this clash threatens our very survival. He warned that Islamic terrorists viewed Islam as the successor to communism in the effort to topple Judeo/Christian-based Western civilization. Norval, a member of the International Association of Counterterrorism and Security Professionals, had warned in 1999 that America was "wide open" to terrorist attacks and that "terror cells" already existed in our nation. THE VIDEO: ISLAMIC TERRORISM IN CHECHNYA Our media show a lot of blood, gore and violence on the air. But we have obtained a videotape of some horrific bloodletting that most of the major networks won't touch. It involves a foreign policy crisis - U.S. policy toward Russia over its military campaign in Chechnya - and whether the American people are getting the truth about this conflict. The story from the media is that the Russians have inflicted horrible casualties on the civilians there. Some commentators even suggested it is so bad that the U.S. or NATO ought to do more on behalf of the Chechen rebels who are under attack by the Russians.

But that would be a mistake, as a video on the realities of the war makes abundantly clear. This video has been provided to American news organizations by the Russian government. It consists mostly of videotape shot by Chechen rebels, most of them fanatical Muslims, who have kidnapped more than 1000 people, including Russians and foreigners, for ransom. The tape was shot by the terrorists and then sent to those families to demonstrate that the captors were serious about their ransom demands. After seeing the tapes, many responded by paying the ransom.
The reason for that is clear once you see the tape. It shows decapitations by the rebels. It shows hostages who have had their ears cut off. And in one shocking scene, the kidnappers hold down a U.S. missionary who had been taken prisoner and they proceed to cut his finger off. The missionary appears to be in shock as the captors slap him in the face after the torture in an apparent attempt to revive him. This missionary was later released but has not talked about his ordeal since returning home to the United States. It's doubtful that this videotape has been viewed by most of the major media. The Russian embassy tells us that, except for CNN, the cable and broadcast networks have ignored it. And CNN refused to show most of it because of its graphic nature and viewer complaints.
The videotape raises important questions about the Clinton administration's anti-Russian policy on Chechyna. Professor Robert Bruce Ware has asked, "What would the United States do if hundreds of Americans were being held in a chaotic neighboring country by people who were sending back videotapes of their torture, dismemberment and murder? I hope we would not kill indiscriminately, but I would hope we would get our hostages out and put an end to the lawless situation that enabled their captivity." In Russia's case, it's not a neighboring country but a province of their own country. Clinton and other Western leaders say that Russia needs to negotiate, but Professor Ware says Moscow already did so in 1996. The result was that "the neighboring Russian republic of Dagestan was twice invaded from across the Chechen border, resulting in the deaths of uncounted Dagestani civilians and 32,000 refugees." After the kidnappings and a series of bombings in Moscow blamed on the rebels, the Russians decided to act.
