Scandals Taking Their Toll
On Popularity of United Nations
A new poll finds that people having a favorable view of the U.N. is declining significantly. The poll http://www.rasmussenreports.com/United%20Nations.htm says that "just 38% of American voters have a favorable opinion of the United Nations these days" while 44% have an unfavorable view.
Rasmussen Reports says, "The UN response to the War in Iraq and recent scandals have apparently dragged down the international organization's reputation. Today's favorability ratings are down significantly from a year ago. Leading up to the War with Iraq, 48% of Americans had a favorable opinion and 31% unfavorable.
"Among self-identified liberal voters, 60% have a favorable opinion of the UN while 25% have an unfavorable view. Conservatives see things much differently--20% favorable and 62% unfavorable."
