Chinese Communists feeding the American people?

​My friend Hugh Turley reports:

Our City of Hyattsville [Maryland] gives away free food every Tuesday.  No means testing, it’s free for all to come and get it. Take as many boxes as you like.  People often grab three boxes.  There is tuna, cereal, rice, pasta, and lots of canned goods. People love this free food.  

I took some to try it and put the food in my pantry.  We ate a few cans.  It tastes okay.   But then I noticed something strange on the labels of the canned goods,  “Product of China.”  The rice is from Uruguay and the cereal from Mexico.

Chinese food never tasted like this!  Who would ever think the Chinese Communists would be feeding the American people?

• Who is paying the Chinese?
• Are US taxpayers paying for their “free” fruit and vegetables?
• Who is responsible giving the Chinese food away?
• Is this only happening in the Washington DC area or nationwide?

Is the food safe?

The boxes of food are labeled “Capitol Area Food Bank.”
