Dear Friend of America's Survival,
Veteran "conservative" journalist Fred Barnes wrote a disturbing Wall Street Journal article in 2016 about how the campaign of Donald Trump was dividing and weakening the Republican Party --thus guaranteeing a Democratic Party win that November. In a new article, he's saying Republican candidates in Virginia are losing because they are too conservative. "The candidates for governor in 2013 and senator in 2018 were too conservative," he claims. He insists, "The biggest GOP problem is that Virginia is no longer a conservative state." Well, not necessarly. It's true that non-white voters go Democrat but white voters, if they are motivated, go Republican. The "conservative" Barnes suggests the GOP nominate "moderates" for state-wide office. That's guaranteed to keep conservative and white voters at home, making it even more likely the GOP will lose. This is what passes for "conservative journalism." Barnes, who also writes for the Washington Examiner, another largely worthless outlet, should pack it in. (He used to write for the Never-Trump Weekly Standard). For America's Survival, Cliff Kincaid
