Senate Republicans in Despair

The  GOP establishment has tried twice to make Martha McSally into a Senator. She lost a race for one Senate seat to Democrat Kyrsten Sinema, and then was selected by the Republican governor Doug Ducey to fill the seat of former Senator John McCain when he died. According to a Fox poll, McSally is losing to Democrat Mark Kelly by 13 points, with only 73 percent of Arizona Republicans backing her. That’s because many see her as too liberal. In addition to McSally, other Republican Senators are also in deep trouble,  according to polls cited by the Soros-funded American Bridge group. These include:
  • GEORGIA: Jon Ossoff (D) 47% / David Perdue (R) 45%
  • IOWA: Theresa Greenfield (D) 48% / Joni Ernst (R) 45%
  • KENTUCKY: Amy McGrath (D) 41% / McConnell (R) 40%
  • NORTH CAROLINA: Cal Cunningham (D) 43% | Thom Tillis (R) 41%
  • SOUTH CAROLINA: Jamie Harrison (D) 42% / Lindsey Graham (R) 42%
  • COLORADO: John Hickenlooper (D) 54% / Cory Gardner (R)36 %
  • MONTANA: Governor Steve Bullock (D) 46% / Steve Daines (R)39%.

While these polls may be dismissed as “fake news,” McConnell is sending messages to supporters noting Democrats need to flip just 4 seats to take back control of the Senate and that, “We’re in real danger of losing these 4 seats and turning our Republican-controlled Senate over to Chuck Schumer and his liberal cronies…”
