Sue the Catholic Church for Fraud
By Cliff Kincaid As one of the victims of the Southern Poverty Law Center, I am encouraged by the Justice Department lawsuit over its fraudulent fundraising. But the biggest fraudulent fundraiser by far is the Roman Catholic Church, which is going bankrupt because of all the money obtained under false pretenses from parishioners and is now going to settle child sex abuse lawsuits. The Lavender Mafia still exists and had a role in picking Pope Leo. On the global level, we have been told by scholar Paul Kengor that we have a “conservative Republican” Pope, but Leo’s likeness has surfaced in an unearthed 1983 photo protesting conservative Republican President Ronald Reagan’s anti-communist policies and proposed deployment of nuclear weapons in Europe. No wonder this “conservative” pope has viciously attacked President Trump over the dismantling of the psychopathic Iranian regime. Where is Leo’s protest of the Iranian nuclear weapons program? Where is his praise for Trump destroying that program? If Leo really opposes nuclear weapons, like he did when Reagan was president, he should be on his way to Washington, D.C. to personally thank the American president. Leo is a fraud, a “Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing,” as I titled my interview of columnist Daniel McCarthy about Leo’s hard-left turn. He has been sold by people like Kengor as a conservative Republican when he is anything but that. In a subsequent interview, columnist and broadcaster Jeff Crouere told me, as a conservative Catholic, that Leo is another Pope Francis and that his far-left ideology is anathema to many in the church. Conservatives like McCarthy and Crouere are speaking “truth to power,” at a time when Leo’s anti-American policy pronouncements are being played down by the conservative media. I like Dr. Kengor’s work and he appeared at many of my conferences over the years. But his book and treatment of Leo is way off the mark. He has been duped and is afraid to admit it. He won’t even confirm Leo is in that anti-Reagan photo, although he thinks it is plausible. Meanwhile, Leo’s first foreign trip to Africa featured a visit to a mosque while Christians in Nigeria were screaming for his help. His Secretary of State Parolin refused to label the murder of thousands of Nigerian Christians as religious in nature, preferring to characterize the conflict as a dispute between farmers. Jeff Crouere’s column on the new pope notes, “Not only had the butchers in Iran been overlooked by Pope Leo, but he also was low-key in his comments about the slaughter of Christians in Nigeria. Since 2009, between 50,000 and 100,000 Christians have been murdered in Nigeria, including 7,000 in the past year, or an average of 35 per day. In addition, an astonishing 19,000 Christian churches have been destroyed.” Crouere commented, “In response to this barbaric and religiously motivated carnage directed at Christians, Pope Leo claimed that ‘there is certainly a danger for Christians, but for all people. Christians and Muslims have been slaughtered’ in Nigeria.” Crouere recommends that the pope focus “on his primary mission of saving souls, preaching the Gospel, spreading the good works of the Catholic Church, and dealing forthrightly with the sexual abuse scandal involving children and vulnerable adults and the extensive cover-up which lasted for decades.” Those “good works” have driven the Vatican into financial debt and eventual ruin. According to Kengor, Francis left Leo a financial deficit of $93.3 million. Retired nuns have to depend on support from a Catholic agency known as the “Retirement Fund for Religious” and only eat two meals a day. On another level, the Catholic Church is the largest religious body in America and openly backed President Barack Hussein Obama’s socialist health care scheme known as “Obamacare” that is helping bankrupt the United States and leading to what they already have in Canada -- medical assistance in dying (MAID), or euthanasia. Speaking of Obama, what about Leo meeting with Obama’s political strategist in Rome? I thought he was going to be a “conservative Republican” pope. Leo now says it is “not in my interest at all” to debate the President. Sorry, but he has already started his papacy on the wrong foot and the debate is ongoing. It’s time for conservative Catholics to join President Trump in protesting this pope’s turn to the radical left. Don’t be fooled by his “American” motif. This new pope has an anti-American record. He must be exposed, in the same way the SPLC is being accountable by the feds. A RICO or racketeering lawsuit against the hierarchy over sexual abuse and cover-ups is also warranted, according to some critics. Perhaps Prevost could be arrested on American soil if he arrives to meet President Trump.
