Dear Friend of America's Survival,
This is actualy a story headline about a UN activity: UNEP report reveals role of gender in waste management. The report, entitled, The Gender and waste nexus: experiences from Bhutan, Mongolia and Nepal, explores "the gendered patterns in each segment of the waste sector and waste hierarchy in these countries. " For example, an employee of a private waste management company in Bhutan says, “there are only men in collection because women cannot handle emptying the heavy dustbins.” This is deemed a "gender based stereotype," rather than common sense.
