Dear Friend of America's Survival,
Betsy McCaughey noted: “The wait-list for public housing is more than four years long in LA and would be even longer if officials hadn’t closed it to new applicants. Here in New York, the wait is a staggering 10 years. Nationwide, illegal immigrants take up some 32,000 public apartments. It’s a powerful reason why the Trump administration is giving them 18 months to get out of taxpayer-subsidized public housing.” The Center for Immigration Studies says: Most Americans are probably shocked to learn that illegal immigrants can get public housing benefits. Indeed, such assistance is prohibited by the Housing and Community Development Act of 1980. The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) proposes to obey the law, saying, “This proposed rule would make two changes to HUD's regulations implementing section 214 of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1980, as amended (Section 214). Section 214 prohibits the Secretary of HUD from making financial assistance available to persons other than United States citizens or certain categories of eligible noncitizens in HUD's public and specified assisted housing programs. The proposed rule would require the verification of the eligible immigration status of all recipients of assistance under a covered program who are under the age of 62.” Liberals and "progressives" are attacking HUD Secretary Ben Carson over the proposed change.
