"Why do you fly the flag today?"
My Grandson wants to know. I fly it for the graveyards Where the countless crosses grow. I fly the flag for children Whose fathers are a name. A half-remembered memory of a face within a frame. I fly it for the families of sons and daughters lost. They know the price of liberty How terrible the cost! I fly the flag for veterans who lost their youth in blood. And saw their comrades slaughtered in the carnage and the mud. I fly it for the ones who marched In cadence off to war To close their eyes forever Upon some foreign shore. I fly the flag for grief poured out Upon a granite wall. The laying-on of hands that heals The scars within us all. I fly it for the sound of Taps--- That melancholy tune That lays to rest those honored dead Who always die too soon. By Marion Mahoney

Dear Friend of America's Survival, Drudge has alway been left-wing. That's because it mostly links to liberal and left-wing publications. Drudge's old advertising rep, Intermarkets, rejected my ads about Obama's Marxist connections back in 2008. Kelleigh Nelson's article, "Drudge Sells Out Trump, Helps Democrats," is worth reviewing. Drudge has a new advertising firm that raises suspicions. So conservatives are going for alternatives such as Whatfinger News. Here's an article I wrote in 2008 about Drudge censorship: How Matt Drudge Censors the News By Cliff Kincaid At America’s Survival, Inc., we are continuing our public education campaign on the threats posed by communism and the United Nations. We expected opposition from the liberal media. But we are also running into a brick wall in the “conservative” media. The latest scandal is that both the daily and weekly editions of the Washington Times have killed our advertising drawing public attention to Matt Drudge’s censorship of our ads. That is, they refused to run our ads about the censored ads. Can it get any worse than this? Our intention was to publicize information about Frank Marshall Davis, the Communist, and his associates, who included Barack Obama. Davis was a key member of a communist network in Hawaii that influenced Obama. One of our reports examined the communist network in Hawaii. The other report examined the communist and socialist network in Chicago. The lengthy reports are heavily documented, with exhibits from congressional hearings and testimony, and haven’t been challenged on factual grounds. Can you believe censorship of this magnitude is happening in a constitutional republic with a “free press” in which the people are supposed to be informed and educated? When my group can’t even pay to get our information into the Washington Times and on the Drudge Report? I had wanted to advertise our new reports on communism in Hawaii and Chicago on the Drudge Report. But our $5000.00 ad buy was rejected by Drudge himself. This appears to be part of a leftward drift on the part of Drudge, who has a rather idiosyncratic background and links to the homosexual community and Hollywood. One of Drudge’s apparent motives is to curry favor with Obama so that he can receive “scoops” from the campaign. Drudge, who is sometimes described as liberal or “libertarian” on some issues, may also personally favor Obama’s election. Drudge’s rejection of the ads, on the grounds that they were “too controversial,” is laughable. He made his name and “reputation” on the basis of “controversial” scoops about Bill Clinton. The rejection of my ads is the latest evidence that Drudge, who is viewed by some as the most powerful journalist in America today, is moving into the liberal camp. The Politico reported on June 3 that, “Matt Drudge has upended the conventional wisdom that he and his powerful online vehicle are stalwarts of the conservative message machine.” It said that he has been “trumpeting Obama’s victories and shrugging at his scandals.” The rejection of my ads is proof of the latter. In terms of his coverage of the Barack Obama vs. Hillary Clinton battle, a senior aide to Clinton was quoted as saying, “It’s clear to us that Barack Obama has won the Drudge Primary, and it’s one of the most important primaries in this process.” In other words, Drudge favored Obama over Hillary and his selection of the “news,” as if he functions as a national assignment editor for the media, affected the outcome. The staffer said that “Drudge’s treatment of Obama could make the Illinois senator more electable in November.” This appears to be what is happening. We, of course, don’t take a stand for or against a candidate; we only try to assure that fair and accurate information is presented about their stands on public policy issues. We have also published an analysis of media coverage of Senator John McCain’s positions, highlighting his objectionable preference for involvement in international alliances and U.N.-supported causes. What I didn’t anticipate is the resistance I would get from “conservative” Internet sites and papers. First, a popular “conservative” Internet news site killed a story about Drudge’s censorship of my ads. Then, the weekly and daily editions of the Washington Times insisted that I omit any direct personal reference to Matt Drudge in my submitted ads. They said they didn’t object to my references to the Drudge Report, only “Matt Drudge.” Of course, the Drudge Report is Matt Drudge, and his advertising representative personally informed me in a telephone conversion and an email that “the publisher” – that is, Drudge – had not accepted my ads. So the case is clear-cut. The decision was made by Drudge, not by underlings or the advertising agency. But the Washington Times insisted that my factual reporting about Matt Drudge’s role in rejecting the truthful ads was somehow inappropriate. By insisting on changing the ad — using the term “Drudge Report” rather than the name of Matt Drudge – the Times had hoped it could collect my ad money while avoiding any perceived slight to Drudge. Some might say that I should have compromised and eliminated the reference to Drudge personally. But the reference was truthful and I didn’t want to back down. The Washington Times’ killing of my ads demonstrates that there is a desire by some in the “conservative” media not to offend Drudge because of the power he is perceived to hold and wield and because the Drudge Report maintains links to these sites and papers, generating traffic and profits for them. This seems to be an open secret. They want to please Drudge; otherwise, he may not highlight or even link to their stories and outlets. “Drudge holds a grudge,” one advertising representative confided to me. This is the tip-off that running an ad critical of Drudge could backfire on a media company. So much for journalistic “independence” and the pursuit of truth. The conclusion has to be, in an ominous development, that Drudge, who is now emerging as a key pro-Obama media voice, is dictating coverage and advertising policies by some influential “conservative” media outlets. This is terribly worrisome and a clear threat to freedom of speech. I told the Times that I had documentary proof that Drudge personally rejected the ads and that they were acting rather silly. Their advertising representatives knew their bosses look silly. But they are prepared to look silly so they can maintain a friendly relationship with Drudge. Dear Friend America's Survival,
Rep. Adam Schiff, leader of the impeachment effort, is listed on the congressional host committee of Friday night's Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation dinner. Schiff has "Expressed Regret" for lying about having no prior contact with the CIA "whistleblower" behind the impeachment. "We have not spoken directly with the whistleblower," he said on September 17, despite the fact that a member of his staff had spoken to the CIA analyst. Issued on: November 7, 2019 On this National Day for the Victims of Communism, we remember the more than 100 million people who have died as a result of communist oppression. Today, we renew our commitment to helping secure for all people a future of peace and prosperity founded on the core tenets of democracy—liberty, justice, and a deep respect for the value of every human life. This year’s National Day for the Victims of Communism coincides with the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. On November 9, 1989, determined men and women put President Ronald Reagan’s powerful words into momentous action, tearing down that symbol of totalitarianism and sending a message to the entire world that democracy and the rule of law will always triumph over oppression and tyranny. As we commemorate this milestone for human rights, we resolve to continue working with our allies and partners to ensure that the flames of freedom keep burning as a beacon of hope and opportunity around the globe. As we pause on this day of remembrance to honor victims of communism everywhere, we must resolve always to safeguard the cherished liberties that foster peace and unleash unparalleled prosperity. Together, we can build a future free from the evils of communism. Dear Friend of America's Survival,
Michael R. Bloomberg is running for president as a Democrat. Bloomberg is the billionaire former New York City Mayor. More importantly, he is a member of the Epstein-tainted Council on Foreign Relations and his Bloomberg Philanthropies is a corporate member of the CFR "President's Circle." Bernie Sanders says, "Mike Bloomberg and his friends in the financial elite are scared. And they should be." Yes, but he's primarily concerned about keeping the U.S. wedded to a failing gobalist policy that uses American troops as cannon fodder in endless Middle East wars. That's what the CFR is all about. Another factor: Trump pulled the U.S. out of the Paris Climate Agreement. Obama signed the Paris Climate Agreement for the purpose of reducing global CO2 emissions. But he refused to submit the agreement for Congressional approval. The Global Warming Policy Foundation has published an academic paper which says the agreement is essentially a fraud, adding that it exempts countries such as China and India from undertaking any reductions. Bloomberg believes in the flawed agreement and joined with then-California Gov. Jerry Brown to "reaffirm" a commitment to it. Years ago, the U.N. Development Program’s Choices magazine published an article touting “Pig Power” as a way to run the economy of the future. It was an article about an experimental energy project in Cuba that involves feeding pigs and using their gasses and excrement to produce energy. In a story datelined Havana, the magazine said, “At a research institute in the suburbs of Cuba’s capital, pigs are pampered with meals prepared by the city’s finest chefs.” Letting the pigs live “High off the hog” produces some energy for the human population, who have to survive on a much lower standard of living. For America's Survival, Cliff Kincaid Dear Friend of America's Survival,
Claiming that research proves that Republicans are favored to win up to 65% of future elections unless we “completely abolish the Electoral College,” a movement to do just that has been launched with big liberal money. The group has a web site and proclaims, "Abolish the Electoral College is dedicated to mobilizing supporters who want to end this antiquated and unjust system." It adds that "two of the last three presidents were elected despite losing the popular vote. We must abolish this relic to prevent Donald Trump or anyone like him from taking power again." For America's Survival, Cliff Kincaid Dear Friend of America's Survival,
It loks like Hemp Farming is going up in smoke. Look at this article: Hemp farmers struggle to sell crops because lack of processors. "Hemp farmers who spent all summer growing acres of crops are now finding there's no one willing to buy it." As ne observer noted, these farmers got fed a line of BS by the marijuana industry. The industry used the farmers as political tools to get pro-pot laws passed. Now the hemp farmers are going broke. From Hemp Industry Daily: Struggling farmers who bet everything on hemp this year experiencing bitter harvest Another observer said: Maybe Mitch McConnell will bail them out. He was the big proponent of this scam. Read "Mitch McConnell Touting Victory With Hemp Legalization on Farm Bill." For America's Survival, Cliff Kincaid Rot at the Top: The Epstein Affair
By Cliff Kincaid The Washington Post reported in September that the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), an exclusive club of mostly Washington, D.C. and New York City insiders, “took no action” against one of its members, pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, after his crimes were known. Epstein, a secretive billionaire with high-level connections in academia and government, had attended CFR events and donated $350,000 to the organization, becoming one of its top donors and a member of the “Chairman’s Circle.” The CFR kept the money. Epstein, whose “suicide” in jail has been labeled by some informed observers as murder, may be the most controversial CFR member since communist spy Alger Hiss. If Epstein was murdered, the question becomes what did he know and when did he know it. At the CFR he would have had the opportunity to learn some deep dark secrets about foreign policy matters and the military-intelligence establishment. ABC newswoman Amy Robach said in the video uncovered by Project Veritas, “He [Epstein] made his whole living blackmailing people.” She stated her belief that he was murdered in jail while awaiting trial on child sex trafficking charges. Her own well-documented story about the sex fiend was killed by ABC News. Secret Meetings There were several big holes in the Post story about this “prestigious” organization and its Epstein connection. The paper failed to note the long list of people from the Post, ABC News, and other Big Media organizations who belong to the CFR. Epstein was found guilty of sex crimes in 2008 but remained a member from 1995 through 2009. He was dropped from the rolls for nonpayment of dues and not because of sex crimes. The CFR’s “Rules, Guidelines, and Practices,” stipulate that, “Members should bring any concerns related to conduct at CFR to the attention of the vice president for membership or another officer of the Council.” It looks like nobody said a word about Epstein, even after he was convicted. While much of what the CFR does is out in the open, in the form of public meetings and a journal called Foreign Affairs, the organization has a “rule on non-attribution” for certain meetings in which identities of speakers are concealed. CFR leaders “now acknowledge that they never discussed what to do about Epstein’s donations after he pleaded guilty to sex crimes in 2008,” said Post reporter Marc Fisher. He quoted CFR president Richard Haass as saying, “I deeply regret that his conviction did not automatically trigger a review of his membership status.” These comments were in an email to council members “obtained” by The Washington Post. While he didn’t find time to reject Epstein or his money, Haass appears regularly on MSNBC, an outlet known for Trump hatred. He was on the “Morning Joe” program, featuring Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, both CFR members, where he denounced Trump for “abandoning” the Marxist Kurds in northern Syria. He has also used MSNBC to denounce Trump for “extreme nationalism,” in comments to NBC’s Andrea Mitchell, another CFR member. The corporate membership is a who’s who of top American companies, including social media firms like Facebook and Google, banks, and hedge funds like Soros Fund Management. Whitewash While it was framed as a disclosure about CFR malfeasance, the Fisher story is a classic example of how the media cover for the rich and powerful, including themselves. Members of the media who belong to this exclusive club are nominated, under the rules of the organization, by another CFR member. The membership is over 5,000. The Fisher story pretends to “cover” Epstein’s involvement with the CFR without going into any significant detail at all and not holding anybody accountable. The “nonpartisan” CFR attracts some naïve Republicans such as John Bolton by claiming not to take “any position on questions of foreign policy.” But president Richard Haass, a former Bush Administration official, states in an official CFR publication that “internationalism is built into our institutional DNA.” Hence, when the CFR journal Foreign Affairs published the article, “The Hard Road to World Order,” we can safely assume it spoke for most members of the organization, including its leadership. This article, written by Richard N. Gardner in 1974, outlined the various global structures and international organizations needed to bring about a form of world government. This kind of article, along with a 2017 piece predicting CIA subversion of the Trump presidency, are why authentic conservatives have always regarded the organization with suspicious and distrust. They understand it was founded for the distinct purpose of opposing “isolationism,” or what might today be described as an “America-First” approach in global affairs. But the organization has had an impact on both political parties. Haass, whose speaking fee is in the $40,000-$70,000 range, met for free with Trump when he was running for president. Trump said at the time, “…I like him a lot. I have a few people that I really like and respect.” One can safely assume Trump’s opinion has changed. Indeed, CFR domination of the military-intelligence establishment explains why President Trump has to be considered an enemy of the Deep State. But what interest did Epstein, an alleged blackmailer, have in the organization? The Post article claims, “In his 15 years as a member of the prestigious Council on Foreign Relations, Jeffrey Epstein attended only two events -- a dinner for big donors in 1998 and a 2002 conversation with Paul O’Neill when he was U.S. treasury secretary during the George W. Bush administration.” The Cover-Up This is stated as a matter of fact when no sources are provided for this information. One has to assume it came from a CFR member. And if the information came from a member, can’t we assume, because of the controversial nature of Epstein’s activities, that perhaps this is not the complete truth? After all, wouldn’t the CFR want to play down his involvement with the organization? Did any CFR members visit Epstein at his various properties? Did they go there to play chess? Was he solicited for donations? By whom? Billionaire Bill Gates is being hounded (and rightly so) by some media for meeting with Epstein on several occasions. Although he is not listed as a CFR member in the current membership roster, his wife gave a speech to the organization in 2008 and his foundation has contributed to the CFR. However, except for the Marc Fisher story in the Post, which is of limited value, this “prestigious” organization has gotten off the hook for its acceptance of largesse from Epstein. In response to the Post’s inquiry, a CFR spokesperson said the organization is now “examining ways to allocate resources equivalent to Epstein’s donations” to combat sexual violence and human trafficking. But where is the investigation of what CFR members may have known about Epstein’s penchant for young girls? Post reporter Fisher provides limited information about the CFR as a faithful employee of another rich and powerful man, Jeff Bezos, the owner of the paper who was caught in a sex scandal of his own. Bezos owns Amazon, making him one of the richest people in the world. Bezos had to give his ex-wife a big chunk of his fortune when sexually explicit photos were leaked and he was caught in an adulterous affair. We have to assume we are not getting the entire picture about Epstein and certainly not about Bezos from the Post. While Bezos is not listed as a CFR member, billionaire George Soros is. His money is said to have played a decisive role in the Democratic Party takeover of Virginia on Tuesday. The Post hails Soros as a philanthropist, but Republicans in the state say the left-wing agenda in Virginia includes gun confiscation, releasing criminals from jail, a “Green New Deal,” and abortion-on-demand until birth. We can’t assume we will ever get the full picture from the Post or other media about Epstein’s role in the CFR. Post employees who belong to the CFR include David Ignatius, a mouthpiece for the intelligence community, and Fred Hiatt, editorial page editor. Marc Thiessen, a “conservative” columnist associated with the American Enterprise Institute and featured on Fox News, is also a member. The media have an obvious conflict of interest in covering one of the most powerful organizations in the world. Nothing to See Here The headline over the Fisher article was predictably deferential to this powerful group: “Council on Foreign Relations, another beneficiary of Epstein largesse, grapples with how to handle his donations.” It sounds like a mere bookkeeping error, not a sex scandal involving powerful men passing around money and devoted to running the world. Meanwhile, with the Epstein matter behind them, the “Amazon Post” will get back to the business of trying to destroy the elected president of the United States because he asked a foreign government to keep its promise to fight corruption. It was at a CFR meeting in 2018 that Former Vice President Joe Biden boasted about withholding aid to Ukraine to force the firing of a prosecutor. Richard Haass presided over the meeting. Perhaps the CFR connection helps explain why the Biden scandal is not a scandal at all. In the words of former Post journalist Richard Harwood, the CFR and its members “are the nearest thing we have to a ruling establishment in the United States.” They decide what is news. They decide what is a scandal. And they want Trump out of office. Who will investigate them? Dear Friend of America's Survval,
I once accepted the argument that the USA Freedom Act was an effective tool of the government against terrorists. I don't believe it anymore. I am no longer assured that the NSA and other agencies are NOT listening to ordinary Americans’ telephone conversations and gathering private and personal data about their lives. So I oppose the effort to reauthorize the USA Freedom Act. A "Joint Statement with Department of Justice Deputy Assistant Attorney General J. Bradford Wiegmann and Susan Morgan, National Security Agency," has been given before the Senate Judiciary Committee. They say four important provisions of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) will expire at the end of this year unless reauthorized by Congress. They add, "As indicated in the Director of National Intelligence’s letter to this committee, the administration strongly supports permanent reauthorization of these provisions." In light of what we already know about intelligence abuse in the Russia-gate controversy, we have to conclude that the Trump Administration is making a big mistake and being pushed by the Deep State into going along with this aspect of the surveillance state. We need members of Congress to make major changes in the NSA program. We need the intelligence agencies purged of traitors. For America's Survival, Cliff Kincaid Dear Friend of America's Survival,
Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin is apparently losing the race because he stood up for taxpayers. The state has a $64+Billion Unfunded Pension Liability. Bevin tried to fix it. In a story which actually played down the serious nature of the problem before the election, Bloomberg noted: The tight race between Mr. Bevin and Democratic Attorney General Andy Beshear could have big implications in a state with one of the worst-funded public employee retirement systems in the U.S. Kentucky's efforts to rein in a $45 billion pension burden have been complicated by constitutional limits on cuts to benefits and lawmakers' resistance to raising taxes — tensions that are playing out in statehouses across the country. The story added: State officials in Kentucky underfunded the pension system for years, leaving a plan for non-hazardous duty employees just 13% funded in 2018, according to its financial report...if [Democratic candidate] Mr. Beshear wins, the GOP would still control the Legislature, setting up even more tense fights over pensions. Bevin tried to fix the pension problem. Bevin unveiled "Keeping the Promise," described as "a comprehensive plan to save Kentucky’s ailing public pension system." It says: "Kentucky's pension spending has been increasing nearly five times as fast as revenues – growing 56% in FY2017 alone. This effectively reduces money available for other important budgetary priorities. (For example, K-12 education, Medicaid, etc. and public services.)" Kentucky is said to have the worst aggregate pension underfunding among the 50 states. For America's Survival, Cliff Kincaidfunding among the 50 states tucky reportedly has the "WORST aggregate pension underfunding among the 50 states." |
