Dear Friend of America's Survval,
I once accepted the argument that the USA Freedom Act was an effective tool of the government against terrorists. I don't believe it anymore. I am no longer assured that the NSA and other agencies are NOT listening to ordinary Americans’ telephone conversations and gathering private and personal data about their lives. So I oppose the effort to reauthorize the USA Freedom Act. A "Joint Statement with Department of Justice Deputy Assistant Attorney General J. Bradford Wiegmann and Susan Morgan, National Security Agency," has been given before the Senate Judiciary Committee. They say four important provisions of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) will expire at the end of this year unless reauthorized by Congress. They add, "As indicated in the Director of National Intelligence’s letter to this committee, the administration strongly supports permanent reauthorization of these provisions." In light of what we already know about intelligence abuse in the Russia-gate controversy, we have to conclude that the Trump Administration is making a big mistake and being pushed by the Deep State into going along with this aspect of the surveillance state. We need members of Congress to make major changes in the NSA program. We need the intelligence agencies purged of traitors. For America's Survival, Cliff Kincaid
