Dear Friend of America's Surival,
Trump's Department of Justice has filed a civil lawsuit against former CIA and NSA contractor Edward Snowden for publishing a book "in violation of CIA and NSA non-disclosure agreements." This is welcome news. But this traitor deserves the death penalty. While the powers of the CIA and NSA have been abused, remember that it was the NSA which carried out the successful Venona project, identifying Soviet agents in the U.S. Government during World War II. We need such an agency at a time when infiltration of Western governments, including our own, is an obvious concern. The powers of the NSA must be used to identify traitors in government. Snowden worked mostly through intermediaries like filmmaker Laura Poitras; Glenn Greenwald, the former gay-pornography executive and columnist; and Barton Gellman of The Washington Post. They became the recipients of the Pulitzer Prizes for espionage, as we called them. It was another new low for the journalism business. The evil genius of Snowden's collaborators was to frame his defection to Russia in terms of alleging that he was a "whistleblower" who was informing the American people that they were being spied upon illegally. Obama called him a mere "hacker," which sounds bad but not treasonous. As I have written in the past about the case, the "information that was made available to the public" was stolen by Snowden and has enabled Russia to invade Ukraine, and ISIS to rise in the Middle East. Equally significant, the Edward Snowden affair demonstrates the complete failure of the U.S. government to defend the American people against internal and external threats. Nothing has changed, as Obama's executive orders on "diversity" in hiring encourage and invite more traitors to go to work for U.S. intelligence agencies. Trump should revoke them. For America's Survival, Cliff Kincaid
