The Marxist magazine Jacobin reports that one of Mike Bloomberg's defenders at CNN is a former reporter for Bloomberg's news service:
CNN’s Cristina Alesci alleged that the recording [of Bloomberg defending stop-and-frisk] couldn’t be trusted on account of Dixon’s own political views [the journalist who discovered the tape]. “The podcaster and the writer that released this sound is clearly a Bernie supporter,” she said. She also raised questions about the provenance of the audio, which had been publicly available on YouTube for years. Alesci is a former finance reporter for Bloomberg News. It's true: her CNN profile says that before joining CNN in 2014, Alesci was a journalist at Bloomberg Television for over five years. It says: She joined CNN from Bloomberg Television, where her coverage of high-profile deals made headlines and moved markets. Cristina was responsible for breaking news on some of the biggest deals of the decade, including Facebook's initial public offering, the buyout of Neiman Marcus and the fight to take Dell private. While at Bloomberg, she also covered the sports, music and entertainment industries, and contributed to Businessweek and Bloomberg Markets Magazine. Bloomberg is a very powerful person, with membership at the CFR and Trilateral Commission -- and friends in the media.
