Will Trump Administration Increase Pro-LGBT Pressure on Foreign Governments?

Another bad personnel decision by Trump:

The president announced that openly gay U.S. Ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell will become acting director of Director of National Intelligence, the agency overseeing the entire U.S. intelligence apparatus.

Austin Ruse of
The Center for Family and Human Rights (C-Fam) writes:
  • Grenell would become the first openly homosexual U.S. Cabinet official. One of Grenell’s projects in recent years has been the issue of LGBT rights in foreign countries, specifically countries where homosexual behavior is against the law. Grenell gained administration approval to pressure foreign governments on the issue of decriminalizing homosexual behavior.
  • As Grenell moves into a much more powerful position, it raises hopes, or fears, that his LGBT advocacy goes with him. Those who have followed the issue believe it would be hard for Grenell to leave the issue behind. If so, the Trump administration could ramp up pressure on governments in the developing world that take a dim view of homosexuality.

Homosexuality caused the fall of the Roman empire. Biblical scholar William Barclay notes that "Society from top to bottom was riddled with unnatural vice. Fourteen out of the first fifteen Roman Emperors were homosexuals."
